Why not another WPA in the 2020s?

The Works Progress Administration (WPA) was an American New Deal agency, employing millions of job-seekers to carry out public works projects, including the construction of public buildings and roads. It was established on May 6, 1935, by Executive Order 7034. The WPA’s initial appropriation in 1935 was for $4.9 billion.

Note: $4.9 billion then would be $91,238 billion today.

Why not have the federal government plan and then implement a comparable program in 2020s?

The primary focus could be on strengthening our nation’s infrastructure.

And perhaps this program would also explore ways to accelerate the development of alternative forms of energy, notably solar and wind.

People want a helping hand, NOT a hand-out.

Let’s elect public servants in November who are committed to working together to make this country even greater.
