A garage unlike any other
Here’s the basic situation. The COO of “the world’s fastest growing and most innovative company is about to become its new CEO,” depending upon how she reacts to what the current CEO is about to show her after she enters a garage. Almost anything I say next about the narrative must be preceded by a spoiler alert.
Instead, I want to suggest a few reasons why I have rated this 77-page book Five Stars:
o The given time machine is a metaphor for a mindset and process that are essential to thinking about the future without any pre-judgments, biases, and other self-imposed limitations.
o Access to future possibilities and opportunities (via the “time machine”) will be restricted almost entirely to the current CEO and his imminent successor.
o The first goal is to establish a workplace environment within which creative, innovative thinking thrives so that unfettered brainstorming generates potentially great ideas.
o The second goal is to provide the CEO with a context, a frame of reference, in the near future within which to lead the company to breakthrough achievements with the best ideas.
Geoff Thatcher explains HOW.
