Rosabeth Moss Kanter’s thoughts about America’s transportation infrastructure

KanterHere is a video of a mini-interview of Rosabeth Moss Carter by Rodney Slater for C-Span2’s BookTV series. Slater served as transportation secretary during the Clinton administration (1997-2001).

Harvard Business School professor Kanter discusses with him America’s transportation infrastructure. She traces back some 200 years to the efforts of entrepreneurs and government officials who made America a world leader in transportation, technology, speed, and accessibility and looks at current issues that plague transportation systems today. Ms. Kanter identifies the five hallmarks of successful transportation systems as: safety, cost effectiveness, productivity, environmental-friendliness, and economic benefits and talks about potential areas of improvement in rail, air, and road transport. Kanter’s latest book is Move: Putting America’s Infrastructure Back in the Lead, published by W.W. Norton & Company (May 2015). To learn more about her and her work, please click here.
