Rosabeth Moss Kanter on developing a new kind of leader

In Think Outside the Building, Rosabeth Moss Kanter explains how advanced leaders can change the world one smart innovation at a time.

She is convinced that a new kind of leader can be found who will be able to deal with intractable societal problems.

“It’s encouraging that there is a lage and growing population of people who really want change. In addition to youthful entrepreneurs, an expanding pool of accomplished professionals and executives who oversaw success while working in an established organization can move beyond the constraints of their careers. They can carry key assets — capabilities, connections, and cash —  into a quest to make a bigger difference in the world. With the scaffolding to stand on, they can start moving outside the building to begin the innovation process as a new kind of leader, using advanced leadership skills.” (Page 80)
