It’s All Possible: A book review by Bob Morris

It’s All Possible: How to lead an epic life and unleash the high performance hero within you

Street smarts on steroids

Years ago during an interview by Richard Brown, Rod Steiger was asked if aspiring young actors ever requested career advice from him. “Oh yeah, sure sure sure! I always look them in the eye and ask, ‘Do you want to be an actor or do you have to be an actor?’ The longer it takes for them to answer, the less likely they’ll ever make it!”

I was again reminded of that moment as I began to work my way through this book. Add Rob Hartnett’s name to the list of those who write self-help books filled with high-impact insights traveling in clusters at Mach 3.

It’s all possible!!! Lead an epic life and unleash the high performance hero within you!!! You can do it!!! Throw away those crutches [real or imagined], march across hot coals, and go kill some big fat dragons!!!

Emotions compound, positively or negatively. And they are contagious, for better or worse.

To those who read this brief commentary, here’s the key question: “Do you want to make your dreams come true or do you have to make those dreams come true?”

If you are “thinking about” self-improvement but have no passion in your gut, even a team of personal advisors — including Hartnett, Napoleon Hill, Dale Carnegie, Zig Ziglar, and Tony Robbins — won’t be of much assistance. Lakota tribal wisdom advises against feeding a dead horse.

That said, if you HAVE TO MAKE YOUR DREAMS COME TRUE, Hartnett provides just about all you need to guide and inform your (don’t forget) SELF help. His advice is practical, doable, comprehensive, cohesive, and candid.

Henry Ford nailed it: “Whether you think you can or think you can’t, you’re probably right.”

Your move.

It always will be, including doing little if anything.
