Here is an excellent book to feature at a “brown bag seminar”

Ten GoldenDuring the last 30 years or so, I have been retained by corporate clients to conduct what I call “brown bag seminars” for groups of executives. They are usually scheduled once a quarter. I provide a briefing on the pre-assigned book (e.g. Roger Neirenberg’s Maestro: A Surprising Story About Leading by Listening) while participants eat lunch and then lead a discussion of the issues addressed in the book that are of greatest interest to them.

I have just read and will soon review The Ten Golden Rules of Leadership: Classical Wisdom for Modern Leaders co-authored by M. A. Soupios and Panos Mourdoukoutas and published by AMACOM (November 2014).

It is an exceptionally thoughtful and thought-provoking discussion of insights by the greatest classical thinkers, including Plato and Heraclitus. Soupios and Mourdoukoutas correlate those insights with major issues in today’s business world.

This would be an excellent book to feature at a brown bag seminar: Although only 128 pages in length, it offers a substantial discussion of rules that Soupios and Mourdoukoutas have identified.

You don’t need me to conduct a brown bag seminar but you may wish to have a brief seminar “To Do” list, accompanied by some study guide questions to share with your associates. You can contact me directly here.

My corporate clients usually provide a conference room in which to conduct a brown bag seminar and a continental lunch (e.g. sandwiches, chips, salads, beverages) but you’ll find that participants are so eager to feed their brains as well as their stomachs that a BYO policy will be appropriate.

If you have any questions or need any assistance, you know where to locate me.
