Gratitude Tiger: Creating Joy Through the Art of Impactful Letters
Joel Zuckerman
Greenleaf Book Group Press (April 2025)
“Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it.” William Arthur Ward
As Ward’s observation correctly suggests, it is better to express gratitude than to remain silent and as Joel Zuckerman suggests, expressing gratitude in writing is even better. He calls them “Letters of Gratitude.” I prefer note cards and a brief message, with or without an illustration.
With regard to “TIGER,” it is an acronym:
Tapping

Gratitude
Engenders
Rewards
In Gratitude Tiger, Zuckerman provides a wealth of “how to do it” material that will help you develop the skills and confidence you need to create what can become a series of messages in grateful response to another person’s “gift,” whatever it may be. Recipients could include parents, other family members, friends, business associates, neighbors, teachers, coaches, clergy…literally anyone to whom you feel grateful, for whatever reason(s).
Be sure to check out the material in Chapter 20. It consists of observations from a wide range of sources that can serve as excellent “primers” to stimulate your own thoughts and feelings.
Also, don’t wait until your message is “perfect.”
I take this opportunity to thank Joel Zuckerman for this book. I think you will also be grateful for Gratitude Tiger. I hope you will let him know that…in writing.
