The Ballad of Archie Manning. Who?

There are so many great football players who never fully developed their potentialities because they played on relatively weak teams.

Archie Manning is perhaps the best example.

He played professionally for 13 seasons in the National Football League (NFL). He played in the NFL for the New Orleans Saints from 1971 to 1982, and for short stints with the Houston Oilers and Minnesota Vikings. In college, he played for the Ole Miss Rebels football team at the University of Mississippi, and was later inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame. Manning is the father of Cooper Manning, and former NFL quarterbacks Peyton Manning and Eli Manning. Peyton and Eli have each won two Super Bowls.

Here is a musical tribute to him.
