Five Key Questions for Supervisors


These are among the questions in the minds of direct reports and other employees that supervisors must be willing and able to answer, NOT by what they say but rather by what they do and how they do it.

“What’s in it for me?”
“Why bother?”
“Is it really worth doing?”
“Who cares?”
“Then what?”

Thousands of exit interviews of thousands of highly-valued employees who have obtained a position elsewhere indicate that not feeling that they and the work are appreciated is one of the main reasons they are so eager to leave.
